Capital hosts young Kenyans on Exchange Visit
As part of its continuing policy to support the local community, Capital has developed strong links with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – acting as major sponsor for a Reception at the Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth, when the principal guests were HRH The Earl of Wessex and adventurer David Hempleman-Adams – and providing storage and administration facilities for the Award’s South Wessex Project.
Last year, when SWP hosted part of a three-week long Exchange Visit by young Kenyans participating in the President’s Award, Capital provided accommodation for the visitors and their hosts during their stay in Bournemouth. Capital Business Development Manager Amir Sadeh, who is Chairman of SWP, and an Award leader, accompanied the young people throughout their tour of the UK and made arrangements for them to meet the Mayor at Bournemouth Town Hall.
Later in the visit, Amir and Capital’s site manager Jim Kermode supervised the young people when they spent time constructing a patio at the Holton Lee respite centre.
During the first part of the Exchange visit, Amir Sadeh participated
in a three-week visit to Kenya which involved going on safari, helping with community projects and an expedition up Mt Kenya.
